Shared Drafts lets your team write, review, and send email replies together. When you draft a reply to an email on a shared board with draft sharing enabled, the draft appears in every board member’s Gmail. Any member can edit it or send it, and edits are visible to everyone.

Use Shared Drafts to get a teammate’s feedback before sending a reply, or let someone else finish a response you started.

Using Shared Drafts with Sortd for Agents and MCP: Your agent can draft an email on one of your team’s shared boards. When draft sharing is enabled for that board, Shared Drafts syncs the draft to every board member’s Gmail, where they can review, edit, or send it.

Enable Shared Drafts

Shared Drafts is currently in early access. Sortd must enable it for your team before the setting appears in your account.

  1. Contact Sortd support. Tell us which team you’d like Shared Drafts enabled for. If you want it enabled for more than one team, include each team’s name.

  2. Open the shared board’s Settings.

  3. Switch on Share drafts with board members.

Draft sharing is off by default on every board. Repeat these steps for each board where you want members to share drafts.

Work with a shared draft

Once draft sharing is enabled, write a draft on an email that belongs to that board. Other board members can then open the draft in Gmail, review it, make changes, or send it.

Keep the following in mind:

  • Each member sends from their own email address. If a teammate sends a draft you started, it is sent from their address.

  • Sending removes the draft for everyone. The sent reply appears in the conversation as usual.

  • Deleting discards the draft for everyone. Delete a shared draft only when the team no longer needs it.

  • Your other drafts stay private. Only drafts on emails belonging to a shared board with draft sharing enabled are shared.

Turn off draft sharing

Open the board’s Settings and switch Share drafts with board members to Off.

Draft sharing is controlled separately for each board.
