This article describes how to enable the automatic reopening of cards on your Sortd board when replies are received after the cards have been closed. This feature ensures that no customer interactions are missed and allows for seamless follow-up on completed tasks.

Access “Board Settings”

To begin configuring this feature, click on the board selector located at the top right of the Sortd interface to view your list of boards.

Hover and Click

Hover over the desired board name to access the small  settings icon.

Board Details

In the board settings pane, you will see various configuration options. Here’s how to set up the automatic reopening of cards:

Locate the “Reopen Completed Tasks” Option

Find the option labeled ‘Reopen completed tasks when a new email is received’. This option can be found under the “Board Details” tab.

Configure the Feature

Click on the dropdown menu next to ‘Reopen completed tasks when a new email is received’ and select ‘Always’. This setting ensures that any card marked as completed will reopen if a new reply is received related to the same email thread.

Save Settings

Make sure to save your settings to ensure that the changes take effect immediately across the board.

Additional Tips

  • This feature is card-specific; you will need to enable it for each board separately if you manage multiple boards.
  • Consider how this setting can improve your team’s efficiency by ensuring that all customer interactions are revisited and no follow-ups are missed.
  • The changes are applied instantly and will affect how all users experience the board, enhancing the workflow of your Sortd board to better suit your team’s needs.

Side note:

Some users think they need to set up a Sortd Automation to achieve this above but this is a build-in feature within Sortd and there is no need to create an automation.
