Sortd groups users into Teams and a team is treated like an organization or company.  Teams can have one or more boards, with all or some of the members of the Team having access to each board.  A subscription is linked to a Team.  Although it is not common, a user can belong to multiple Team's, with each Team having a different Subscription and consequently have access to different functionality and boards. Users, tasks and boards cannot be shared across different teams, as each team is its own unit.

Note

When you invite a team member to a board they are automatically added to the team.  In the example above, if you go to the team settings and then to the team members, you will see the following:

TEAM: ABC Corp

  • BOARD 1: Sales Board

Members:

       - You (ceo@abc.com)

       - John (john@abc.com)

       - Jacob (jacob@abc.com)

       - Jingleheimer (schmidt@abc.com)

  • BOARD 2: Operations Board

 Members:

       - You (ceo@abc.com)

       - Snap (snap@abc.com)

       - Crackle (crackle@abc.com)

       - Pop (pop@abc.com)

  • BOARD 3: Finance Board

Members:

       - You (ceo@abc.com)

       - Accounting (finance@abc.com)

       - Snap (snap@abc.com)

       - Crackle (crackle@abc.com)

Note:

       - Pop (pop@abc.com)

This means that you can have members on the team that don't have access to any boards.  The only time you should have that situation is if you add another person as a team admin just to administer access to boards (i.e. to be able to create boards, add and remove users or change settings).
